Chefs play an important role in the wellbeing of the Commonwealth by producing food and supporting the income of farmers and businesses. As a Chef, your primary responsibility is to transform crop items into delicious meals and products for players to enjoy.

What Chefs Do

Chefs transform crop items into a wide variety of dishes for the community. However, the culinary profession offers many opportunities beyond simply creating food.

Chefs may collaborate with Brewers to establish restaurants offering both food and beverages, supply their creations to other players' businesses, or operate food stalls through rental agreements on existing properties.

Whether you choose to run your own business or work alongside others, there are many ways to build your career as a Chef.

Congratulations on passing your Chef exam!

After obtaining your license, it is recommended that you purchase or rent a plot of land to establish your own food-related business.

If starting your own business is not the right option for you, or you do not currently have the required funds or land, you can search for employment opportunities through Discord. Join the DemocracyCraft Discord Server and check the #employment channel to find available culinary positions.

Resources for cooking can be gathered from the Wild, Everwild, or purchased from other players. Custom crops, such as corn and lettuce, can only be grown by Farmers, so trading with other players is encouraged.

You can use /find <item> to search for players selling ingredients you need or to find buyers for the food you create.

To start your own business, you will first need to obtain an Entrepreneur's License. After obtaining your license, follow the business guide to get started.

How It Works

To view all available food items and recipes, type /recipes in-game and select the Food icon.

Each recipe lists the required ingredients and may also require specific containers. Recipes are organised into categories, including cooked food, desserts, and beverages.

If a category contains multiple pages, navigate between them using the arrows in the bottom right corner of the menu.

To view the recipe for a specific item, select it from the list. If the recipe contains non-vanilla items, selecting those items will provide information on how they are crafted.

To return to the previous menu, select the red ‘x’. You can navigate additional pages using the blue arrows or search for a specific item using the magnifying glass icon on the home screen.
