Katto CATastrophic (joined 8 January 2022; also known as Katto Strophe; commonly referred to as Katto; né Wars), in-game KattoDE, is a Redmontian artist, businessman, and politician who formerly served as the mayor of Aventura and as Construction Secretary. He currently serves as a Representative in the 32nd House of Representatives. He is also head of staff at the Redmont Art Archives.

In 2022, Katto founded Katzen, formally as a bar and bakery, which gradually transformed into a restaurant and later an art business after the introduction of the ArtMap plugin. In early 2024 he founded K&K, the largest private event-planning service provider in Redmont.

Katto is a member of Liberty of Redmont. He formerly identified with the Socialist Workers' Party of Redmont and the Galactic Empire of Redmont.

He served in the 25th House of Representatives as an independent, and authored the Illicit Renting Act. He also served in the 28th House of Representatives as an independent. In June 2024, during his congressional term, he successfully ran in the June 2024 Aventura mayoral election with AnimeInc as an independent. Strophe is currently a member of the 32nd House of Representatives as a member of the Redmont Beach Party.

Economic Career

CATastropic is a designer and founder and owner of Katzen, a conglomerate which owns KatzenArt, Katzenfutter and a few smaller branches, most of which being in the past. He discovered his passion for painting on 28 July 2023, when the artmap plugin was introduced. His art style is distinctly realistic and often honours his nationality. Katto has painted many popular artmaps, including Lusitania, Titanic, and several paintings related to Germany. Katto has won two Rys in his artistic career and was honoured with several other awards in the Career Olympics and Players' Choice Awards. Katto won the "Player of the Year" award and was declared the Most Creative Player at the 2023 Players' Choice Awards. All his paintings can be fount in the Redmont Art Archives in the basement below c324 he specifically purchased.

He was a sergeant for the Department of Justice from 23 July 2022 to 24 February 2023 and was a staff member from 23 September to 23 November 2023. CATastrophic's ranger application was accepted on 21 May 2023. On 3 June 2023, he applied to become a police officer and it was accepted the following day.

From the 9th of January to the 11th of March he was Secretary of Construction of Transport, passing several forums reforms and overseeing multiple Construction Projects. He also implemented a new basement connection policy and made skybridges cheaper.

Elections

He declared his candidacy in the inofficial December 2023 Paradiso mayoral election on 10 December 2023. He was declared the winner on 13 December 2023 and became Paradiso's first - and only - mayor on 15 December 2023.

crytiee declared his candidacy in the February 2024 Willow mayoral election, with Katto as his deputy mayor, on 22 February 2024. The campaign didn't win the election.

On 4 June 2024 he declared his campaign in the June 2024 Aventura mayoral election. He received the endorsement of Yeet_Boy and, after RylandW was removed from the election, the support of RylandW. He won the election and became the 4th Mayor of Aventura.

AnimeInc declared his candidacy in the February 2025 Aventura mayoral election, with Katto as his deputy mayor, wherein his ticket initially lost - but after the DOS re-ran the elections due to human error, they won the March 2025 Aventura mayoral election.

On 25 April he declared his candidacy for the 25th House of Representatives as an independent, although he is an outspoken member of the Galactic Empire of Redmont and the Socialist Workers Party. He also won a seat in the 28th House of Representatives, again as an independent. He recently also won a seat in the 32nd House of Representatives, running under the Redmont Beach Party with promises of town representation and art support.

On 21 May 2024, he satirically declared he would be running for president in the June 2024 Redmont presidential election, running ads for the supposed campaign.

Katto is also an architect and former Constructer for the DCT. He built the Germania, the largest civil ship in Redmont. He also built large parts of Elysian Fields and the southern expansion in Aventura and helped in a few Oakridge pastes. Some other plots he built include c467, c455, av-c045, r045, rh054 and several other plots that were already demolished. His construction style is for the most part European, specifically Neo-Baroque and Edwardian.

Political Career

Katto identifies as a pragmatic libertarian centrist. He believes in a free market with limited government intervention. He supports private land ownership, as seen in his Illicit Renting Act. Even though he is a member of the Redmont Beach Party, which he runs under for national offices and frequently endorses, he is completely non-partisan and independent in town politics as he doesn't believe in party intervention in towns.

National Offices

Katto was Construction Secretary from 9 January to 11 March 2025. He was appointed to the position under lcn's presidency after UnityMaster was removed from office. Under his term, several large construction projects took place. He also revised multiple guidelines and implemented new public policies. He wanted to lower monetary paste costs and increase the material requirement, but this was rejected. He ended up resigning 2 months and 2 days after assuming office due to mental health issues, saying "it is better to not rule than to rule incorrectly ".

He served as a Representative 3 times. Notable things he did are the outlawing of illicitly renting an apartment (i.e. breaking clearly stated guidelines). He also wrote a constitutional amendment renaming the office of Special Advisor to Executive Advisor, as he regarded the abbreviation of Special Advisor as problematic.

He served as an Executive Advisor for UnityMaster.

Towns

Katto was the 4th Mayor of Aventura, with AnimeInc as deputy mayor. He succeeded Dragons1ayer343 as Mayor, under whose term the Aventura Town Budget mysteriously went from roughly $2 Million to a bit over $90k. Katto himself doesn't think highly of his mayorship, calling himself inactive. Under his mayorship Epiphone335 built and pasted several yachts, notably the AZZAM, boosting the Aventura budget back up to over $2 Million. After his term ended, he endorsed CopTop_YT's mayorship, though took a break from Aventura entirely after an internal argument.

He is currently serving as the Deputy Mayor of Aventura under AnimeInc's Mayorship. He played a big role in several large constructon projects and the urban planning of the town. He also started the Project Sealife initiative.

Philanthropy and activism

Katto founded and operated the Redmont Housing Organization (RHO), which provided housing for those of low-income. He served as its chairman from 23 March until its dissolution on 23 November 2023.

He donated supplies to construct and furnish the Diamond Foundation's Diamond Center 1 in late 2023.

On 27 April 2024, KatzenArt at c120 opened a public bunker for the 2024 purge. Also that day, DiamondTV launched the #ProtectPets campaign to protect pets during the 2024 purge, which ItsKatto promoted.

He also donated a grand total of $119420 to the Redmont Art Archives and made a pact to donate 1 of each paintings he ever makes to the gallery.

Personal life

Katto resides on the Ship "Germania" in Aventura, but also frequently lives in a castle called "Neukatzstein" in Reveille Heights and the Katzenhouse in Bondi Beach, Reveille. Katto was included in a portrait by CaptainKlodaCat titled me and my friends. He has identified as an "immigrant from Germany".

He was adopted by prominent artist ToasterWars. AnimeInc is his uncle. Katto founded the CATastrophic family. On 11 February 2024, he adopted his brother Meowow55. He then adopted Mask3D_WOLF on 26 March; funyolk on 28 March; and Soundi83 on 30 March.

Accolades

ItsKatto received a Ry in the Artists category at the Second Rylands Awards. He was declared Player of the Year and Most Creative Player at the 2023 Players' Choice Awards. He was nominated in the Artists and Authors category at the Third Rylands Awards on 29 February 2024. He won in the Artists and Authors category at the Fourth Rylands Awards. He was nominated in the Fashion category at the Fifth Rylands Awards.
