The Galactic Empire of Redmont (GER) is a major political party. Founded and lead by Yeet_Boy, the party's values and roleplay are based on the American cinematic franchise Star Wars. The party leans left, describing itself as "socialist," though not all of its members profess socialism.
Although the GER has been described as being in center-left on the political spectrum, the party has maintained cordial relations with the center-right party the Patriotic Coalition of Redmont (PCR); Yeet_Boy endorsed the PCR's candidate, Bezzergeezer, in the June 2024 presidential election after dropping out of the election himself.
The GER has been successful in many elections, winning seats in the 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th and 26th congresses; and numerous victories in towns, including two mayorships of Aventura (TabbQ and ItsKatto) and, most notably, a mayorship of Oakridge (Yeet_Boy).
History
On 13 August 2022, Yeet_Boy submitted a political party application for the Galactic Empire of Redmont to the Department of State.[1] Just over a month later, Yeet_Boy reported that the GER had 20 members.[2] Also at this time, the party's leadership consisted of HappyG2143, Jontaa and LieutenantDerp99.[2]
On 20 December 2022, following Yeet_Boy's ban from the server, the Department of State deregistered the party.[3] However, Yeet_Boy published the State of the Empire on 27 January 2023, reporting that the party had "about 25" members.[4] Four days later, Yeet_Boy reapplied for party status,[5] and received it on 4 February.[6]
The GER has had four tickets in presidential elections, all with Yeet_Boy as its presidential candidate. In June 2023, Yeet_Boy ran with zLost[7] but lost to LilDigiVert of the Birthday Party.[8] In October 2023, Yeet_Boy ran with crytiee[9] but lost to the Redmont Nationalist Party's xlayzur.[10] In February 2024 he again ran with crytiee,[11] but GoldBlooded won.[12] In June 2024 he ran with Bepus,[13] with a heavier emphasis on socialism,[14] but later dropped out of the race and endorsed Bezzergeezer.
Culture and roleplay
The GER draws heavy inspiration from Star Wars. It is very notably involved with Oakridge.
An unofficial but widely-used symbol of the GER is Mug Root Beer. Many members will say "Mug" at random.[15] In or before 2023, the custom sticker MUG was added in the Discord server for the Department of Education.[16] The tradition is derived from Trentrick_Lamar.[17]
