The Capitol serves as the physical location of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The Senate is the upper chamber of Congress, the legislative body of Redmont. It is made up of six senators, divided equally into groups "A" and "B", whose terms last two months. The two groups rotate, with the terms of senators in group A starting in odd months, while those of senators in group B start and end in even months.

History

The first Senate election was called on 1 September 2020. The Senate was established in September 2020, serving in the 3rd Congress, while the House of Representatives began in May 2020 and served as the sole chamber of the 1st and 2nd congresses.

Functions

Members of the Senate vote on bills that pass in the House of Representatives, on presidential nominations, and on senatorial motions. Members of the senate can motion for actions, including hearings of government agencies, private organizations, and individuals; senators can also interrogate the subject(s) of a hearing.

Leadership

The Senate is lead by the president of the Senate, who is filled in for by the deputy president of the Senate when necessary.
