10 July 2020 – 18 August 2020
2nd House of Representatives
Speaker of the Househugebob23456 (NAP)
Deputy Speaker of the HouseKrix (DRP)

The 2nd Congress of Redmont was the group of legislators comprising the legislative branch of the country's government, serving from 10 July to 10 September 2020. An exact date for close of declarations is lost media, but the last declaration of the election was on 3 July 2020. The announcement of the results was announced on 14 July 2020 by the Department of Public Affairs,[1][2] who were in charge of announcing elections until the formation of the Department of State on 16 September 2020.[3]

Not a lot is known about the Second Congress, as most records are quite scarce around these times. Hugebob23456 was elected the third Speaker of the Congress on 15 July 2020[4], and one of the most apparent items of his term were regular updates in #government-announcements detailing what bills were passed Congress. Most work undertaken in legislation was focused on reforming the nascent laws and Discord server of Redmont, especially reforms like the creation of #congress-cabinet and #news[5]. Additionally, constitutional reforms like the Veto Override Proportion Amendment[6] were created, and one veto was overturned in the Congressional Process Amendment Act.[7]

However, the most impactful development of the Second Congress was a transition into a bicameral legislature. On the 18th of August, 2020, Speaker Hugebob23456 announced[8] that on 11 August 2020, legislation had been passed transforming the previous Congress system into a bicameral House of Representatives and Senate system.

Upon request of Hugebob23456, President xEndeavour dissolved the 2nd Congress later that day. The link explaining the reasoning for the dissolution has decayed[9], but presumably it was to transition to a bicameral legislature as provisioned by Congress.
