ChAkselsen (short for Chris Akselsen) was a Redmontian businessman and politician who served as the mayor of Hamilton City from May to June 2021 and as the 7th Secretary of Education and Commerce under _Austin27_ in June 2021. For a short period in August 2021, he served as a temporary member of the 8th House of Representatives by succession, filling huney69's seat until awwimnicki0202 was elected.
Career
In March 2021, ChAkselsen founded Spectre Industries.[1] He founded Emerald Unlimited in May.[2]
ChAkselsen won the May 2021 Hamilton City mayoral election with 22 votes,[3] serving until June, choosing not to seek reelection.[4] Shortly after being elected, Akselsen appeared in a poll asking voters whom they would consider voting for president in the upcoming presidential election, where ChAkselsen ranked 9th with seven votes.[5] Sometime within the next two weeks, he was announced as the _Austin27_ campaign's pick for secretary of education and commerce.[4] As the campaign reigned victorious, Akselsen was nominated for the post and, after a rejection by the 7th Senate,[6] he was confirmed following a renomination.[7]
On 30 June, Akselsen resigned from his office as the DEC secretary.[8] In late July, he ran in a special election for the 8th House of Representatives as an independent, losing with nine votes.[9] Around this time he began serving as the deputy leader of the Nordic Union.[10] On 1 August, it was announced that Representative huney69 had become the de facto acting secretary of public affairs, and The Redmont Times suggested that Akselsen might be nominated to replace her,[11] being second in line after 99pizza99, who had only two hours of playtime in the 30 days last.[12] Mere hours later, this did happen, as Speaker 218218Consumer nominated Akselsen to fill the post. The vote failed 8-3,[13] but a new motion by Representative xEndeavour about four hours later passed 8-5.[14] A special election was called to fill the seat now temporarily held by Akselsen, with he himself seeking the seat as an independent,[15] but with just a single vote, tied for last as the seat went to awwimnicki0202.[16] Later that month he applied to be _Austin27_'s chief of staff.[17] In September he became a debates officer.[18]
In mid-August 2021, ChAkselsen participated in worker protests against the DEC as a member of the Union of Commerce.[19] He was also an event coordinator starting in May 2021.[20]
