Trolligarch wave

The Trolligarch wave refers to the influx of new player joins in the first days of 2025 as a result of the featuring of DemocracyCraft in a YouTube video by Trolligarch entitled When teenagers run virtual democracies. Those who came to DemocracyCraft from that video are often referred to as the Trolligarch generation. The Trolligarch wave is credited with the shift toward left-wing politics, including the January 2025 congressional elections, as well as the popularity of the Workers' Party of Redmont (WPR) and the Redmont People's Party (RPP). Other political parties, including the Galactic Empire of Redmont (GER) and the Patriotic Coalition of Redmont (PCR), saw membership numbers rise. The lasting effects of the Trolligarch wave could also influence the February 2025 presidential election, in which two popular left-wing parties, the GER and the WPR, collaborated on a presidential ticket, the 1950minecrafter presidential campaign.
