JoanM999 (joined 12 April 2020; also known as Joan) was a Redmontian politician who helped found the Socialist Party of the People.

Early life

Joan joined DemocracyCraft on 12 April 2020, the server's opening. He was the third to join DemocracyCraft on its opening date.

On 14 April 2020, he applied to become a police officer. He received public support of his application from ChocolateLactaid. The application was accepted 12 days later. He is believed to be the first police officer in Redmontian history. On 21 April, he declared his support for the registration of the Socialist Party of the People, which he helped found.

On 1 May, he formally declared his candidacy in the May 2020 House of Representatives elections. He won a seat as a member of the Socialist Party of the People.

Non-political career

Joan applied to become a police officer again on 31 October 2020. His application was accepted on 3 November 2020.

Politics

On 26 August 2021, then-mayor of Oakridge 1950minecrafter appointed Joan as the new deputy mayor of Oakridge, replacing superpacman04. They served in the role until 30 October 2021, when the next mayor's term commenced.

On 1 October 2021, Joan formally declared his presidential campaign in the October 2021 presidential election, with his wife ElainaThomas29 as his running mate. They ran as members of the National Renewal Party. He came in second place, with 41.18% of the votes (71 votes), losing to 218218Consumer.

On 2 February 2023, 1950minecrafter formally declared his presidential campaign in the February 2023 presidential election with Joan as his running mate. They ran independently. However, in the post, 1950minecrafter claimed the announcement was not serious. This garnered a denouncement from former president LilDigiVert, saying, "Our government and electoral systems are no place for jokes." This same scenario happened again on 1 June 2023 in the June 2023 presidential election.

Accolades

On 31 January 2024, Joan was decorated with the Order of Redmont (OR36) by President xlayzur.

Personal life

On 31 October 2020, Joan signed up to participate in the Department of Public Affairs-organized murder mystery event. He attended the First Rylands Awards on 7 October 2023.

Family

Joan married ElainaThomas29 on 31 March 2021. Together, they adopted AndreyMia on 18 November that year. They later adopted Cheeseater77 and Ethan7S3_ on 11 January 2023.
