Chicken pox is a contagious disease that can be caught and transmitted by players in Redmont.
Signs and Symptoms
When first infected with chicken pox, a player will feel small itchy red spots appear on their body. This appears as a rash, and gives the player a red glow. They will also get a fever alongside the rash. There is a 75% chance the player will contract itchiness, and a 50% they will feel fatigued. [1]
Causes
Chicken pox is caught by spending time around sick chickens and being within one block of sick chicken. Once a player is infected with chicken pox, they can spread the disease to other players nearby in a three block radius.
Management
Aciclovir is the main and only treatment for Chicken pox, which can be brewed by a Doctor or Pharmacist with 3 Antiviral Tinctures and Sugar to make 3 Nucleoside Analogue, which can be made into Aciclovir.
Players can go to any hospital or clinic to be cured by a doctor for free, as Aciclovir's cost of $45 is fully paid by Medicare.[2]
Epidemiology
Chicken pox is an extremely contagious condition that easily spreads between players in close proximity. Epidemiologists have determined a 22% risk of infection within a three-block radius of an infected player. If you notice you are glowing read, try avoid being around other players.[3]
History
From the second wave of the May 2025 Moon Plague outbreak, a chicken pox infection was spreading alongside a common cold.
