RylandW (joined 24 May 2023), also known as Ryland Wethersbee and mononymously as Ryland, is a historian, philanthropist and politician from Redmont.

Since January, Wethersbee has been serving in the 29th House of Representatives, as well as as an executive advisor to President lcn since the UnityMaster presidency. A member of the Galactic Empire of Redmont (GER), Wethersbee is outspoken in politics. He previously served in the 25th House of Representatives.

Wethersbee opened the Diamond Foundation in mid-2023. In October 2023, Wethersbee founded the Rylands Awards, a routine awards ceremony honoring contributions to the culture of DemocracyCraft. He also founded the Redmont Historical Institute in January 2024 and Ivy University in December 2024. A journalist, he launched the news outlet DNN in November 2024.

Political career

December 2024-present

On 18 December 2024, Wethersbee was asked by then-President UnityMaster to apply for an executive advisor position, which he did.[1] The following day, he was appointed to the position and also applied to the National Welfare Office,[2] to which he was accepted. In late December, he was appointed to the Presidential Press Corps.

In January 2025, Wethersbee ran for a seat in the House of Representatives as a member of the Galactic Empire of Redmont, alongside four other GER candidates for the House: 2theo, bigpappa140, YeetGlazer and zLost.[3] Wethersbee was elected with five first-preference votes and began serving in the 29th House of Representatives.[3] He authored and proposed the Medicare by Default Act, which changed the Medicare system to provide its services to all citizens of Redmont by default; the act passed in the House 6:0:5 and in the Senate 4:0:0.[4] He also wrote and introduced the Journalistic Transparency Act, which is currently at vote in Congress.[5]

On 2 February, Wethersbee endorsed Yeet_Boy and zLost in the February 2025 Oakridge mayoral election and bigpappa140 and JustaDumpling in its town council election.[6]

February 2025 presidential election

Wethersbee has not issued an endorsement for any candidate in the February 2025 presidential election. He has taken a stance against Vernicia's campaign in the election. He also wished xEndeavour luck in the election and spoke at a 1950minecrafter rally on 6 February 2025.
