Government House, more commonly known by the colloquial Brown House and rarely as the Frat House, is the official residence and workplace of the president of Redmont. It is located in the Camberwell neighbourhood of Reveille; prior to the Reveille transition, it was located in Hamilton City.
Etymology
The earliest known use of the nickname Brown House was in July 2020, and potentially dates back even earlier. It is likely a play on the name of the White House.[1] Frat House was used in the past, referencing North American college fraternity housing.[2]
History
In October 2022, Secretary of Construction and Transport LavenderxBlaxii announced that considerations were in place to demolish the existing Brown House and replacing it, as the existing building was "no longer fit for [its] purpose".[2]
In February 2023, it was added to the Heritage List.[3]
Surroundings
In November 2023, Secretary Nacholebraa announced that the Department of Construction and Transport had completed Operation Diplomatic Fuck, which reintegrated historic structures to the area surrounding the Brown House after having been displaced.[4] Notably, c656 is across the street from the Brown House.[5]
Cultural significance
The Purge has seen the invasion of the Brown House.[6]
President Krix and Vice President hugebob23456 were inaugurated on the terrace of the Brown House in February 2021.[7] These inaugurations now happen at the MilkCrack Memorial Stage behind the Capitol.
