Blockjaw is a common health condition in Redmont. It is non-contagious. Before the 2026 Health Update, Blockjaw was known as Tetanus.
Signs and Symptoms
Patients who have Blockjaw will always have Stiffness. There is also a 10% chance the patient will be Sweating or have a Fever.[1]
Causes
A player can get Blockjaw when they are attacked or get cut with a Rusty Metal. This normally happens when a player is attacked with a melee item. In rare occasions you will slip and cut your arm on a Rusty Object.
Management
The main cure for Blockjaw is Metronidazole, which Doctors can make by brewing an Iron Nugget and 3 Simple Cultures into 3 Pseudomonas Culture, then turning the Pseudomonas Culture into Amoxicillin. A patient can go to any hospital or clinic to be treated with Metronidazole, which has a $55 cost fully paid by Medicare.[2]
Another cure for Blockjaw is Antibiotics, which Doctors and Pharmacists can make by turning 3 Simple Cultures into Antibiotics. This is not covered by Medicare and is usually not given out at the hospital, so patients must purchase it at a pharmacy.
