The Town of Arsky (Officially known as Town of Arsky - Historical District of Oakridge, or Arsky District for short) was a township in Oakridge that existed from October 2021 to December 2022. It was officially recognised by Oakridge.

The district functioned as a living-in historical museum for the wild regions around Oakridge during Hamilton's era. In Reveille, its purpose remain the same, despite the wild and city maps had been separated.

History

Evidence shows Arsky was already well-known and established by late 2021.

Creation

Originated from The DEC's State of the Economy - an analysis by Thritystone on 5 August 2021 - reporting the property crisis faced by Redmont at the time, reasoning that the increasing property price is driving players to live permanently in the wilderness. In the article, Thritystone interviewed residences of the "Oakridge Slums", a collection of unclaimed buildings on the outskirk of Oakridge, to learn more about why they choose to stay there.

Later on 5 August 2021, Democracy Daily published a news article about the area, detailing its origin, along with the decrepit state and mostly abandonded status of the community. This was followed up by the outlet's article on 19 September 2021, informing the public on the further dilapidation the slums, as its history slowly faded away.

Inspired by the news articles, by the end of September 2021, baole444 and Azdray had set out to start the revitalisation process, which was later joined by xEndeavour and TommysToe. Andreigmr8 was not named in the article, but base on the 4th Founder position, they likely involved in the clean up process early on. oferinbar was the last to join the team, with the first contribution as the public operating area on 10 October 2021.

On 12 October 2021, oferinbar created Arsky (Legacy) Discord server for town management and coordination with Oakridge officials. This was likely the time when the project recieved the name Arsky.

Declaration

On 24 October 2021, baole444 wrote the Town declaration, marking the official birth for Town of Arsky:

Today we look back at what once was a wasteland. Some people say it's an eyesore, while others call it "slums". There is no such land that deserves it. Stepped out of the crow, whom all watching, we, the founder of the place, all hands pick up what was leftover of once-abandoned land.

Here, we mended the damage and brought the place back to glory. Despite all the difficulty we faced, all eyes are on us, the soul of the lost land once calling for its return. With all force we mustered, now we stand here, where once was without hope. We only have one goal: "Fix it, and bring it to live." And with that rise a new town, we call "Arsky".

Today, the past may rest. It's time to move on. With that, I wrote this declaration, marking the birth of our lovely town - Arsky. Although many troubles await us, there is no reason to hold step.

"Under the support of all founders, Mayor and citizens of Oakridge, I now declare the creation of Arsky town as a historical site of Oakridge. May the flag symbolize our endless dedication toward this day and the future of the site. Glory to Arsky! Glory to Oakridge"

Relation with Oakridge

On 29 October 2021, Mayor of Oakridge 1950minecrafter signed a town bill to declare Arsky a historic site and district of Oakridge. The bill also mandated that the government of Arsky could only maintain control of the territory of Arsky until Oakridge was fully able to claim its territory, after which the Oakridge Town Council would have "full jurisdiction over Arsky", making it an Oakridge district. Under the provisions of this bill, Arsky was claimed and regioned on 22 December 2021. This was the only time for a wild town to become part of an official town while retaining all its infrastructures and some autonomy.

Removal

On 10 November 2022, Mayor of Oakridge Galavance finalised plans to remove Arsky. This was set in motion, starting by proposing the district to convert all its historical buildings to match Oakridge's theme. Arsky had to produce a document clarifying it's standing. Many round of negotiation happened, involving the proposal of moving Arsky to Willow. The plan was put on halt as the news was disclosed to the public. On 19 December 2022, Arsky was fully removed from Oakridge, replaced by the current valley, which was met with some criticism by the town's founder, baole444.

Current time

Some builds from Arsky was recovered and incorporated into Arsky Historic Harbor of Oakridge at 4376, 73, 1115 as a way to commemorate this bygone district.
