The Redmont Historical Institute (RHI) is a nonprofit historical research and public education organization based in Reveille. The organization's purpose is "to collect, preserve, share and study" the history of Redmont. Located at c452, the RHI is home to a museum, the Library of Redmont, and the STAMBA Gallery of Fine Arts.

History

The institute was founded on 1 January 2024 by RylandW. The STAMBA Gallery of Fine Arts was added to the museum on 3 March 2024. On 18 May 2024, major remodels were announced. The Masked Decimal System was created there the following day.

From 31 July to 5 August 2024, c452 was closed due to the Oakridgeitus pandemic, a roleplay event.

The RHI formerly employed Adam_The_Warrior, Casualgreyknight, ItsKatto, and TheReal42Person.

Library and museum

The museum, although having no official name, includes the STAMBA Gallery of Fine Arts and the Towloo Collection, in addition to many other artifacts. The Library of Redmont contains over 130 unique pieces of literature and was formerly operated by the Diamond Foundation at Diamond Center 1 with the name Ryland Library. Mask3D_WOLF created the Masked Decimal System specifically for the Library of Redmont on 19 May 2024.

Programs and services

In April 2024, the institute declared the DemocracyCraft Wiki on Fandom to be its official database. Focus was shifted to updating, improving, and expanding the database. On 7 May 2024, the Redmont Historical Institute announced the RHI Photo Contest May 2024, offering $1,000 to whomever uploads the best picture of DemocracyCraft; this challenge was won by kvogt2340. The goal of this program was to "expand the image catalog and document the server." This site hosted the RHI's "virtual portal," displaying images of some of the organisation's collection.

In July 2024, a "nationwide census" was attempted; however, this initiative was not completed.

The RHI immediately migrated its focus to the official DemocracyCraft wiki following the wiki's launch.
