Censures are a way that the Congress, or solely the House or Senate, can express formal disapproval for an individual or government department

History

Censures were first formally established in the first Congressional Process on 1 May 2020. During this time, they could only be used to censure a representative.[1]

With the ratification of the Constitutional Repair Act II on 3 October 2020 (EST), the power to censure was added in the constitution for the Congress. They could censure any person or group.[2]

On 19 June 2023, the Censure Limitation Revamped Act or the CLR Act was signed into law which limited the ability to censure, only allowing one individual to be censured per motion.[3] However, entities such as government departments could still be censured.[4] This change was made in response to the actions of Representative zLost, who, on 30 April 2023, motioned to censure every other representative in Congress. Since the other representatives were ineligible to vote on the motion, it was passed.[5]

On 7 March 2025, the Commonwealth of Redmont Constitution Act was ratified, and removed constitutional provisions for censure.[6]

The process for a censure is currently defined within the Legislative Standards Act.[7]

List of censures

Number Name Position Date Reason Type Vote (Y-N-A) Ref.
1 Ronsampaul Representative 6 October 2020 "for inactivity, disengagement, and failure to vote on bills" House 3-2-0 [8]
2 Nutzucer 5-0-0
3 _Dark_Helmet_ 13 October 2020 "Corruption. M_Lasai is very publicly and very literally auctioning off his membership in the House of Representatives to the highest monetary bid" 3-0-0
4 The Red Army N/A 23 October 2020 "Senior members of the Red Army have begun advocating the use of mass violence as retribution for the rightful firing of two police officers for 15 counts of misconduct and inactivity. Terror in all forms will not be tolerated by this Government." Congress Unknown [9]
5 Westray President 9 December 2020 "Westray made several false claims relating to the Honourable Nacho. These claims were presented on public display with little or no evidence to back them up. This is a clear attack on a Judge by the President and the Senate will not stand for it. We request that Westray reflects upon his actions and acts in a more presidential manner in future." Senate 3-0-1 [10]
6 13 December 2020 "for his interference in the election of a President Pro Tempore by attempting to block the Senate from electing its own leader.

These acts are unethical and break the government’s separation of powers, something dangerous for our democracy and which cannot be tolerated."

House Unknown [11]
7 Nacholebraa Judge 12 February 2021 Failure to recuse on a court case regarding a presidential election "despite having a direct relationship and being biased towards the Krix campaign". Campaigning for Krix for president as a judge, violating the FREACC Act.

House 6-1-2 [12]
8 FriedPotaters N/A 27 February 2021 "for the mass murder of 5 Senators during a Senate Session" Senate Unknown [13]
9 Krix President 17 March 2021 "The President currently has 13 bills on his desk. He is pocket vetoing almost every round of bills for a considerable amount of time. A number of bills have been on his desk for approximately a week. It is time that we publicly show our discontent with his actions. It is the President's job to veto or sign bills into law, not block them." House [14]
10 99Pizza Press Assistant 29 May 2021 "for his recent actions in #news. 99Pizza presented an image related to a private announcement made by Treasurer Zab. Although this is not illegal shows incompetence by part of the Press Assistant and we want to show our public discontent for his recent actions." Senate [15]
