Tetanus is a formerly non-contagious disease that can be caught in Redmont. It was commonly called a 'rust infection' by players. It was replaced with the Blockjaw disease with a new health system in 2026.

Profuse sweating is the main symptom of a tetanus infection.

Causes

Tetanus is caused by a bacterial infection. The infection enters the body through wounds, typically inflicted by rusty metal.

Metrozol, a brand name for the antibiotic metronidazole, is the medication of choice for treating a tetanus infection under the Department of Health. Its crafting recipe calls for gunpowder, a glass bottle, a brown mushroom, and glowstone dust.
