lcn (joined 4 February 2024) is a Redmontian politician who is currently serving as the president of Redmont. lcn also works in the Department of State as an electoral officer and an auditor, in the Department of Education as a guide, in the Department of Construction and Transport as a builder, and in the National Endowment for the Arts as a curator.
Political career
lcn is notably an independent. In every election they have ran in they have done so as an independent. Opting to stay neutral, they have not made any notable comments or remarks on political parties; they have also never publicly endorsed any political campaigns.
Oakridge
Head of commerce
lcn's first entrance into politics was as the Oakridge head of commerce in April 2024. lcn ran for this position due to the inactivity of the incumbent, recognizing the importance of an active head of commerce.
While serving in this position, lcn proposed three acts of council, all of which passed. The first was the Oakridge Commerce Opportunity Act, which established 3 new grants for business owners and landlords in Oakridge to apply for. The second was the Affordable Apartments Act which amended the Oakridge Commerce Opportunity Act to incentive creating affordable apartments. The last Act of Council proposed by lcn this term was the Oakridge Property Standards Act, which aimed to update the building regulations of Oakridge.
On 12 June 2024, due to the unfair way evictions were handled in the aforementioned Act of Council, the Town of Oakridge was sued by BoopingBerry, in the lawsuit of BoopingBerry v. Town of Oakridge [FCR] 88, where the town ultimately lost and had to return the plot and pay a heavy fine. lcn has referred to this as their "greatest legislative failure," and has sworn to "be a more conscious legislator." The offending sections of the Act of Council were deemed unconstitutional and were amended by the Oakridge Council shortly thereafter.
In June 2024, lcn ran for re-election as head of commerce, but lost to Adam_The_Warrior by a 9-12 vote.[1]
On 22 July 2024, after the resignation of Adam_The_Warrior from the position of Head of Commerce, lcn ran for the position against Bardiya_King, and won in a 6-5 vote.[2]
lcn's last term as head of commerce came after the August 2024 Oakridge council elections, where they won in a 4-2 vote[3] against totemundying. During this term, lcn proposed eight Acts of Council, of which 4 passed, 2 were rejected, and 2 were rescinded.
lcn did not run for reelection in the October 2024 Oakridge council elections, due to serving as mayor of Oakridge.
Mayor of Oakridge
On 18 September 2024, lcn declared their candidacy for the mayor of Oakridge, with JustaDumpling as their running mate. They ran with a long list of goals and policies.[4]
On 25 September 2024, the Department of State declared lcn and JustaDumpling the winners of the election, by a 16-10 vote.[5]
While serving as mayor, lcn and JustaDumpling created a new spawn fountain, updated building regulations, auctioned plots, approved a log spleef event, named the streets of Oakridge, revitalized Main Street, and improved the lumber mill. In addition to these, lcn created a new ticket system for the Oakridge Discord server, creating new tickets for each of the departments, and the Oakridge military, which was entering a war against Redmont. lcn, alongside the department heads, created new jobs for citizens to apply for.
As mayor, lcn appointed Yeet_Boy to chief of staff and Freeze_Line to town attorney and chief legal of Oakridge.
On 30 October 2024, lcn resigned from the position of mayor of Oakridge.[6]
