Purpose
For the benefit of the server, the Staff Team retains a reserve power to override any Government decision when deemed necessary for server stability, fairness, or performance.
Process of Override
These decisions are made collectively, involving two or more members of Server Leadership (Manager+).
Where practicable, the override will be communicated through the President prior to implementation.
Finality of Decisions
Staff overrides are final and cannot be overturned by Government or Judiciary.
However, Server Leadership will collaborate with the President to identify and pursue alternative options that align with both server needs and roleplay integrity.
Advisory Role
Server Leadership may advise the President upon request or offer input proactively on matters related to:
- Server performance
- Staff workload
- Feasibility of implementation
Transparency and Accountability
A public record of Staff interventions will be maintained in good faith below, serving as:
- A tool for lawmakers to anticipate and avoid future conflict with staff decisions
- A reference for Government to understand the scope and rationale of staff actions
This is not an exhaustive list, but encompasses most major decisions made over the server's history.
Height Limits
Description: The following limits apply, and cannot be surpassed:
- Towns: 40 blocks.
- Skyscrapers: 200 blocks.
- Else: 60 blocks.
Reason:
- The Government have no active interest in maintaining the height limit and are therefore likely to approve all requests to exceed the height limit.
- Anything beyond 40 blocks belongs in a city - anything larger than 40 blocks is taller than the main superstructure of the capitol building.
- We are in the business of building towns, not cities.
- Towns are encouraged to build structures specific to their town industry, and towns more generally, not something to rival the city.
- For server aesthetic.

Polygon Region Ban
Description: The government cannot ban polygon regions.
Reason:
- Diagonal plots add depth and perspective to the city.
- Some players enjoy working on angles.
- There are many diagonal roads in the city.
Link: Cuboid Regions Only
Former Government Position Roles
Description: The server won’t maintain Former <role> permission groups and tags.
Reason:
- Maintaining one role such as President means that we have to do it for other roles such as Vice President, Justice, and Secretary.
- These roles will accumulate over time and will override meaningful jobs with meaningless ones.
Capital Relocation
Description: The Capital of Redmont will remain in the city that Spawn resides.
Reason:
- Fairness among towns.
- Towns are not an appropriate capital city.
Link: Capitol Relocation
Towns
Description: There shall be no more than two towns, or districts exercising governing powers substantially similar to those of a town.
Towns are strictly limited to the boundaries allocated to them and may not reclaim, annex, or otherwise expand into major bodies of water beyond the shoreline as it existed in February 2026.

Reason:
- The server does not have the player base to support more than two towns.
- There is an increased focus on a dual city competition rather than local government integration.

Owner Veto while in Government
Description: Ownership’s ability to veto is unaffected by political factors.
Reason: Extended Response - see link.
Link: Owner Veto while in Government
Term Limits
Description: Either limiting an elected office by number of terms, or by allowing the presidency consecutive terms.
Reason:
- Two terms of up to 8 consecutive months (two 4-month terms) under one leader can create stagnation on the server environment.
- History shows that second and third terms often lack the energy and innovation of first terms, even when non-consecutive.
- Regular leadership change ensures fresh ideas and a dynamic government, in particular, it enhances opportunities for new players.
- Limiting elected offices may discourage long-term participation in the server.
- Players who are invested in government might disengage if barred from running ever again, reducing experienced contributions to the community.

Deputy In-Game Roles
Description: With rare exception, deputised roles such as Deputy Secretaries will not be afforded visible in game ranks.
Reason:
- Visible roles, in-particular the Secretary tag combination, are already long. Adding a deputy to most tag would make it too long, especially considering Deputy Secretaries can serve in Congress. i.e. ‘[Rep] [Staff] Dep. Commerce Secretary Username’ is 45 characters alone (half of a chat line).
- In-game roles are only abbreviated in limited circumstances. Such a role would require abbreviation to allow for a viable visible tag combination.
- The role would mask other important roles that serve regular in game functions. i.e. Deputy Secretary of State might mask Sergeant or Doctor.
- There are 9 secretaries and each department usually has 2+ Deputies. This would lead to most people online having a secretary role of some sort which is masking other roles.
- Instead of a shown role there is now a hidden role, allowing the same perms as secretaries to be granted to their deputies.

Server Infrastructure
Description: The following infrastructure is staff-owned and managed. It requires approval for alteration:
- Spawn / Tutorial
- Staff Areas (i.e. Resource Room, Staff Museum)
- Donator Infrastructure: Reveille Yacht Club, Reveille Country Club, and the Cruise Ship Supporter Hub
- Owner Residences
Reason:
- Spawn and the tutorial are significant places in the server and act as a player’s first impression of the map and the server. This does not detract from the DCT’s ability to decorate Spawn seasonally, however it will require approval from a member of Server Leadership.
- Donator areas involve the expenditure of IRL funds and therefore should be overseen by Server Leadership to ensure that any amendments to the area is consistent with what the server has committed to donators.

City Design
Description: That the spokes of the City’s road/path network remain.
Reason: To preserve the city’s design so that we don’t end up with a Manhattan grid-like, characterless mosh pit. Reveille is designed to be centred in a spoke formation with large thoroughfares running diagonally from the epicentre that is Spawn. This forms the ‘Triangle of Government’ which sees the three branches of government at each end of the triangle to symbolize the separation of powers.
Corporate Wild Claims
Description: Corporations cannot own wild claims.

Government Jurisdiction Limits
Description: Wilderness worlds (End, Nether, Wild, Everwild, Outback) are all lawless, international lands outside the scope of government regulation and control. Government regulation of wild regions will be transferred to Staff Policy.
Caveat: Redmont Government is requested to maintain claim evictions as an exception.
Reason:
- Attempts to legislate player behaviour in the Wilderness have often blurred this intended purpose as a lawless, international land.
- Players may act freely within it, but must also accept the heightened risks that accompany that freedom.

Homeland Security Murder Plugin
Description: The Homeland Security plugin is considered presumptively correct as evidence, until proven otherwise by evidence other than witness testimony alone. Reason:
- Without a trust in the murder plugin, it would become nearly impossible to prosecute murders.
- Without murder prosecution, players become frustrated that they are unable to press charges.Links:
