State Prosecutors are responsible for the legal defense and prosecution on behalf of the Commonwealth of Redmont. They are supportive staff to the Attorney General, working closely with law enforcement and government entities to represent them on their behalf.
Duties
State Prosecutors are charged with a variety of duties, including:
Investigations and Interviews - Work with law enforcement to investigate certain matters for criminal cases. - Collect evidence (screenshots, videos, etc.) and interview witnesses. - Investigations are crucial for developing a thorough criminal case against any individual.
Creative Defenses and Precedent Research - Support the Attorney General in lawsuits against the government. - Develop creative arguments and analyze various ways to defend the government. - Find precedent in different cases to support arguments.
Legal Advisory - Provide legal advice to the government, including potential lawsuits and questions about the constitutionality of laws. - Use the Acts of Congress to cite statute law in arguments.
Court Conduct and Procedure - Comply with and respect court procedures at all times. - Respect the authority of the presiding judge and avoid speaking out of turn. - Court procedures can be found here.
Structure
The Office of the Attorney General has three teams in which State Prosecutors and Paralegals are involved: - Constitutional Team - Criminal Team - Civil Team Together, these teams work on various case assignments.
Protocols
Confidentiality - State Prosecutors are not permitted to share classified information about cases or investigations.
Bias and Conflict of Interest - State Prosecutors must exclude themselves from government cases in which they may have a conflict of interest.
