As a congressional clerk, you are a member of the Office of Congressional Affairs and are in charge of assisting the presiding officers of the House of Representatives and Senate in their administrative duties[1]. The Clerk may also use Senate or House Announcements to ping all of those required to vote.[2] Clerks are vital to congressional operations and manage the updating of statutes following amendments.[1] The only requirements for applying as a clerk are to have a linked forums account and Discord.[3] Traditionally, the majority of clerks have been current or former members of Congress.
