Barren Valley is a wild town located east of Central Flats Airstrip.
History
Barren Valley was founded by SpaceHombre. The first building in Barren Valley was built to display a guide on planting dark oak saplings, and was later converted into a community centre. Another early building was WildStop, a general store. It was later renamed the Barren Valley Public Lounge, a "loophole" unsuccessfully attempting to null an agreement that gave the Central Flats Merchant Republic logging rights.[1]
A consulate was also built nearby by KattoDE, who had planned to build a wild town of his own called Kattoria, which never materialised. Other buildings in the town included apartments and a government office building.[1]
In December 2025, archaeologist NovaKerbal investigated the settlement. The town's residents seemingly "attempted some form of urban planning," although it was found in a state of dilapidation.[2]
In February 2026, Barren Valley was officially annexed by the neighboring town of Mountain, incorporated as the "Historic District of Barren Valley". The road network running through Barren Valley was cleaned up and widened, and many of the old buildings were repaired.
