Hypothermia

Hypothermia is a serious health condition that can affect players in Redmont. Its name derives from neo-Greek 'hypo-' (low) and 'thermia' (temperature).

Signs and Symptoms

Hypothermia typically presents with shivering and a headache. Players have a low body temperature.

Causes

Hypothermia occurs when a player's body temperature falls below 30°C, this is well below the normal temperature of 37°C. Wearing inadequate clothing in a cold environment can be a major contributor to a decreased body temperature.

Managing hypothermia involves raising the body temperature. This can be achieved with a heat pack, crafted with a magma cream and a piece of paper.
