The Department of State (DOS) is the department of the executive branch tasked with the facilitation of elections and the execution of audits, reports, census' and public surveys. It plays a significant role in the democratic function of the Commonwealth of Redmont, allowing for a fair electoral process that gives results per the authentic will of the people, and providing data on the performance of the elected government to the public. The department is currently headed by Secretary A__C.
History
The department was established in September 17, 2020, making it one of the batch that was created in 2020.
Duties and responsibilities
The Department of State holds several responsibilities:
- Overseeing all executive Cabinet department
- In control of internal auditing and performance of all Government departments.
- Compiling and writing the State of the Commonwealth (SOTC) report.
- Administrating, faciliating, and communicating between towns and the executive branch.
- Managing and facilitating federal elections.
- Handling all diplomatic matters with government outside the Commonwealth of Redmont.

The Department of State operates through a structured hierarchy that ranges from operational to leadership roles. Each role works hand-in-hand to ensure and upkeep the democratic integrity, administrative accountability, and external diplomacy of Redmont.
Leadership
The following roles are leadership roles obtained upon nomination by either the President (Secretary) or the secretary of State (Deputy Secretary).
- Secretary of State: The head of the department, responsible for overall policy direction and the execution of the department's functions.
Management
The following roles are managerial roles obtained upon promotion within the Department of State:
- Election Manager: Oversees the electoral procedure, ensuring that it is done correctly and on time. Responsible for hiring and training new electoral officers.
- Audit Manager: Aids in conducting specialized irregular audits, assigns audits and State of the Commonwealth jobs, and fixes up/reviews census reports and other audits. Responsible for hiring and training new auditors.
Employment
The following jobs are employed by the Department of State:
- Electoral Officers: tasked with the electoral procedure: election forum posts, election announcements, candidate verification, and the counting of votes.
- Auditor: tasked with gathering State of the Commonwealth details/information, assisting in the compilation of a national census every six months, and conducting monthly department audits.
