Illicit substances are consumables that are outlawed, either for their potential to hurt or for being dangerous in the wrong hands. Possession results in a fine and seizure of the illicit items. Trafficking them results in higher fines as well as jail time.

Shine Elixirs
There is a group of elixirs called 'shine' elixirs, which are all illicit substances. These can be brewed with the brewer job, and recipes located within the "Book O' Brews." Shine Elixirs primarily cause harm or death to the player.
