As a System Administrator or Senior Administrator, sometimes you will encounter situations where you accidentally deleted a file for good, overwritten something, or have to restore a player's inventory.

Thanks to Geri at Bloom, we now have a feature called Quick Restore, read it here.

Important things to note...

Read all of these. All.

  1. Restoring a whole backup requires approval from Technofied. No exceptions.
  2. To restore a player's inventory, do not navigate for files manually.
    1. TELL THE PLAYER TO LOG OFF. OTHERWISE, THIS WILL NOT WORK!
    2. Click on Backups
    3. Go to the Backup you wish to restore from.
    4. Click on "Quick Restore" not "Restore".
    5. Enter the paths to the player's inventory.
      1. There are two paths you must restore.
        1. Reveille/playerdata/uuid.dat
        2. Reveille/playerdata/uuid.dat_old
      2. It is important you do both, sometimes the "old" path isn't found - that's ok - you can ignore/skip it in that case.
        1. That does not mean you can skip it always, because if "old" is found, it will cause issues.
    6. Restore, while keeping the server online.
      1. Select Purge Found Files but do not turn
    7. Happy dance. :)
    8. Let the player know you restored their inventory and ask them to hop online!
  3. You must be confident in specifying the paths to restore, if you aren't clicking on the file and restoring that way.
  4. Paths must be specific, if you do Reveille/playerdata/ as opposed to Reveille/playerdata/player.dat - it will restore the whole folder.
    1. A good rule of the thumb is to check if there is a file extension.
    2. It's fine if you want to restore full folders too, but a lot of the time you won't be - so make sure you aren't doing this accidentally!
  5. When in doubt, ask.
    1. Anything however small the doubt needs to be clarified - ask Technofied. It is fine if a ticket needs to wait a week or longer for his reply.
