The '''Department of Public Affairs''' ('''DPA''') is an executive [[department]] within the Commonwealth of [[Redmont]]. It is tasked with organizing and hosting server community events and contests, facilitating media grants, and managing private events. As a highly significant force in community outreach, the DPA serves as the primary bridge between the government and the player base. The department is currently headed by Secretary Spyders_crypt.
The '''Department of Justice (DOJ)''', formerly known as the '''Department of Legal Affairs''', is the executive department tasked with '''defending the national legal interest''', and '''investigating and prosecuting crimes''' on behalf of the federal government. The department exists to protect the government and keep the country safe. The Department of Justice has tasks to do and these tasks can change depending on what is happening in the country.

== History and Purpose ==
= History =
The DPA was founded to act as the central hub for server-wide community outreach and entertainment. Through hosting events, promoting the server on social media, and managing public relations, the department maintains an active and engaged player base.
The Department of Justice was created in '''July 2020''' as one of the parts of the government. At first it was called the '''Department of Legal Affairs'''. Then it was given a new name. Over time the Department of Justice has had leaders and has gone through a lot of changes. Even though the Department of Justice had some times in the past it is doing well now and growing under new leaders. The people who work at the Department of Justice have to be able to adapt to situations because the outcome of trials is never certain and unexpected things can happen. The Department of Justice is a place to work for people who are interested in '''criminal law'''.

Historically, the department has been responsible for creating some of Redmont's most beloved traditions. Notable historical contributions include:
= Duties and Responsibilities =
* The creation of the traditional '''Presidential Roast'''.
The Department of Justice holds several key responsibilities:
* The development of '''DCTV'''.
* The implementation of seasonal events, such as the annual '''Haunted House'''.
* The spearheading of '''Red vs Blue''', the first server-wide event designed to be completely free of timezone restrictions.

SnoWhitebeard is also heavily recognized for her foundational work and contributions to shaping the modern DPA. ''(Note: A complete historical list of every former secretary is currently unavailable in the public records).''
