The Federal Reserve Bank is governed by a board of 5 members, 4 of those being chosen by Congress (called "Sitting Board Members"), and 1 being the secretary of the Department of Commerce (DOC), ex officio.

There are currently five board members: jJoshuaTheGreat, Robidemon2, xSyncx, Soundi83, and xXTheoryXx ex officio.

Members under the 2023 bill

When the Federal Reserve Act of 2023 was still in effect, before being repealed by the current Federal Reserve Act of 2025 on 10 August 2025, board members were nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

Since 10 August 2025, board members are nominated by the House with a majority and confirmed by the Senate with a supermajority. They serve staggered terms with defined start and end dates, similar to how the Senate works.
