Archivists want the DemocracyCraft Wiki to be brought up to the quality of Wikipedia.

The Wiki Revitalisation Project is an official effort of the Department of Education for archivists to focus on maintaining — that is, cleaning up, updating and expanding — existing articles on the DemocracyCraft Wiki. Proposed by FloofyLunafox, it is currently in a test run.

The below documentation for this project has been adapted and expanded from the proposal of FloofyLunafox in internal communication channels of the Department of Education.

Goals

The Wiki Revitalisation Project would entail the establishment of a temporary formal structure to detect any rotten pages on the wiki, encourage work on updating and establishing a consistent wiki format and ensure the backlog of required changes is (largely) dealt within the period of July-August.

For this the implementation of the following measures should be considered:

Quality

Establishment of a temporary project maintenance triage system, where each page is assigned a category from the following set:

  • WRP-5: very high priority: severely outdated, empty, incorrect or simply vandalisation
  • WRP-4: high priority: heavily outdated
  • WRP-3: medium priority: few changes needed or missing references
  • WRP-2: low priority: only style guide violations or is a stub
  • WRP-1: clean and finished article, the ultimate goal for each article

Importance

For new pages similarly we will assign an importance level from:

Importance should be marked on an article's talk page using the {{importance}} template.

Completion and maintenance

Following a phase where all pages are reviewed and assigned, a drill down approach to move as many pages as possible to WRP-1 should be performed, where like before archivists take on an assignment to do one page update or creation, finish it, submit for review and then move to done.

Articles should be reviewed at least monthly, with an updated {{as of}} tag at the top. Class 5 articles should be marked as patrolled and reviewed often to ensure they are of the highest quality.
