The Social Democrat Party (SDP), formerly known as the Socialist Union is a centre-left political party in Redmont, founded by PluraGlasshouse on 22 January 2026[1], and registered on 27 January as the Socialist Union. The party was rebranded to the Social Democrat Party on 4 February 2026.[2][3]
History
Social Democrat Party was founded by PluraGlasshouse, previously the founder of the now-defunct political parties Redmont Union and Labor Party of Redmont, on 22 January 2026, as a centre-left, social democratic political party.
The party held its first executive committe election on 23 January 2026, electing four members, with PluraGlasshouse as the chair.[4]
On 27 January 2026, The Social Democrat Party formed a coalition with the Oakridge National Party with 62.5% of the party's members voting for the coalition in an internal vote.[5]
On 31 January 2026, Plura announced the creation of a wild town for the party, named Labor Cape.[6] A few days later, the party appointed SimplifiedMax as Head Secretary.[7]
On 4 February 2026, the party then known as the Socialist Union, rebranded to the Social Democrat Party, including a logo change, color scheme change and more.[3]
Structure
The Social Democrat Party is governed by an Executive Committee, led by a Chair and a Vice Chair. The chair serves as the leader of both the executive committee and the party as whole, directing political strategy and actions. The vice chair assumes the chair's duties when the chair is unable to do so. [8]
The Secretary body consists of three secretaries, one of whom is appointed Head Secretary. The secretaries are responsible for internal party management and overseeing day-to-day operations. Unlike other party roles, there is no requirement to be a party member to become a secretary.[8]
The Social Democrat Party's structure also includes two departments, the legislation department led by the Head of Legislation, and the Marketing & Public affairs department, led by the Head of Affairs. The leaders of the departments are appointed by the executive comittee. [8]
Political position
The Social Democrat Party identifies as a centre-left to left-wing party, and advocates a social democratic economic system with strong socialist elements with key policies such as abolishing sales tax, making income tax progressive, taxing large corporations, nationalizing key infrastructure and businesses, improving government pay and updating congress seats to match playerbase growth.[9]
