Building Inspector

From DemocracyCraft Wiki

Building Inspectors are charged with maintaining the general aesthetic and activity of buildings in the city. Out-of-date buildings and "eyesore" buildings will be removed, after a Building Inspector files a report on them.

Pay

Building Inspectors' jobs are generally commission based. The pay for Building Inspectors will vary depending on their results.

Duties & Expectations

As a Building Inspector, your primary duty is to ensure that people are following the building regulations. To be a successful Building Inspector, you must have a good grasp of the building regulations yourself. Your responsibilities include:

  • Actively monitoring plots, players, and builds
  • Documenting violations of building laws, with notes and screenshots
  • Reporting players who are not making significant progress on construction sites (or have stopped building entirely).

Building Inspectors must compile and post their reports on the forums, and in the reports channel in Discord. View the protocol for submitting a report here.

Building Inspectors must meet basic standards of in-game activity and job commitment. The full protocols and policies of the DCT are linked here.

Trainee Process

  • New Building Inspectors are trainees for 2 weeks.
  • Trainees will be assigned a mentor in their discord channel within the first day or two of their service, and Trainees will be trained by the mentor once a time has been chosen.
  • After two weeks of service, the Secretary will check in with the Trainee to see how things are going. If they are going well, they will be promoted to a full-fledged Building Inspector.
