The Speaker of the House of Representatives, colloquially known as the Speaker, is the presiding officer of the House of Representatives. The office was established in 2020 by Part I, section 5 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Redmont. The Speaker is second in the Commonwealth of Redmont Presidential Order of Succession. Selection

After the beginning of each Congressional term, or when the Speaker resigns, or is removed from the position from a motion of no confidence (which requires a supermajority to pass), the House internally votes on a Speaker, which requires simple majority. The Speaker must be a Representative.
