The town's location at 4170 74 1017 ([[Oakridge Town Hall\|town hall]]) makes Oakridge directly north of [[Redmont]]’s capital, [[Reveille]]. Oakridge’s name was originally Oakridge Bay due to the fact that the town is situated next to a bay though the name was later shortened to simply Oakridge.
