== What does it do? ==

Using the Treasury API, you can get information about or manage many aspects of the Economy right from your own custom applications. This includes:
* Making payments to businesses or individuals
* Getting the transactions of your personal or business account
* Creating and managing webhooks (which let your system know when a transaction comes in)
* Getting or managing information about your company and employees
* Getting information about other companies, including their balance
* Getting the balance of other players
* Getting information and statistics about chestshops

Implementing these functionalities into your own applications can be very powerful, and can elevate your business to the next level. For example: you can almost fully automate every aspect of a bank.

== How do I get started? ==

Once you have obtained the Treasury Licence, you gain access to a command which allows you to generate your own API key. To obtain a key for your personal account, run <code>/treasuryapi personal issue</code>. To obtain one for your business, run <code>/treasuryapi business issue <business name></code>.

When you run these commands, the API key is shown in chat. It is shown once, so make sure to copy it somewhere safe! You can retrieve it later with <code>/treasuryapi personal/business export <keyId></code> (it gives you a shareable link to the key), or replace it with <code>/treasuryapi personal/business reissue <keyId></code>.

== Security ==
The Treasury API is an incredibly powerful tool, but with that also come some risks. Please adhere to the following instructions in order to keep your account secure.

* '''NEVER share your API key with anyone!''' Someone with your API key can impersonate you and has full access to the account the key is associated with. They can very easily take all your money, or use your key in a way which is illegal or against the [[Rules|Server Rules]].
* Getting help from someone? Consider options that do not require you to give them an API key. For example by having them set everything up on a machine you have access to, revoking their access, and only entering the API key after they no longer have access. Or by using an intermediary business that uses their own accounts.
* In the event that you really do need to give someone API access for your business, make sure they are very trustworthy. Then, add them as a Co-Proprietor to your business so they can generate their own API key to use. That way, transactions and other API calls still lead back to them, not you! But remember: they still have full access to your account.
* Make sure you know what you're doing. If your application has security vulnerabilities, users of your application may be able to do things that you didn't intend for them to. Including possibly draining your account.
* Regularly rotate (change) your API keys. You can do so through the API or the in-game command <code>/treasuryapi personal/business reissue <keyId></code>.
* If you feel that something is amiss: rotate your keys and always feel free to contact Staff.
* Never commit a key to source control or paste it into a public channel.
* Use a separate key per application so you can revoke one without breaking the others.
* Revoke keys you no longer use.

Unfortunately, in the event that you do give out an API key and get scammed, Staff will not be able to reimburse the damages to you. The same applies if a security vulnerability in your or someone else's application gets abused to drain your account or to do other damage.

== Rate Limits, Abuse, Recklessness ==
Every type of request has a rate limit, which may be different for personal and business API keys. You can find all rate limits on [https://api.democracycraft.net/economy/swagger-ui/index.html#/transfer-controller/transfer Swagger]. Exceeding the rate limits results in a HTTP 429 status code with a <code>Retry-After</code> header (in seconds). If you get this, please back off on the requests and retry later. Persistently exceeding your rate limits or purposefully sending malicious requests to the API may lead to your API access being limited or revoked entirely, as well as to other punishments from the Staff Team.

Staff may also limit or revoke your Treasury API access if you handle your API keys recklessly, including sharing them with others or exposing them publicly. Follow the security guidance above to keep your accounts and applications secure.

While most laws exist to regulate, there are certain actions that are built into DemocracyCraft with the sole purpose of being criminal acts. These specific actions are what differentiates a conventional lawbreaker from a criminal.

Not all substances are legal- and for good reason. For strong elixirs, you can sell them for some hard cash but do beware as you can be arrested and/or fined if you are caught having these items in possession or trying to sell them outside the Black Market.

This doesn't only apply to exclusively banned substances. Selling medical supplies (not [[Pharmaceuticals) outside of designated areas is also illegal, but who knows, you might be able to make good money from it.

Anyone can own a gun or use one- that's perfectly legal so long as you have [[Gun License]]. However, not all weapons are. For example, nuclear weapons are illegal to possess in any way. Due to their massive potential to kill, they are often one of the more expensive options you can find for sale in illicit markets.

Excluding those under new player protection, anyone can be murdered. This can be done to collect [[Bounties]] and/or player heads. All players upon death drop their player head that can be used for decoration (heads of prominent players can be sold on the black market).

After murdering a player, clues are spawned in which can be interacted with by detectives to convict the perpetrator. If a detective interacts with the clues and gains enough evidence to convict, a wanted star will be assigned to the player responsible for the murder. These stars do not disappear until the player is arrested. Typical sentences include jail time and a $400 fine.

== Black Markets ==

So where do you buy and sell this all anyway? Black markets are regions of Redmont that are not subject to the law and can sell whatever they please. The most popular one, the Reveille Black Market, is located at <code>2809 69 4170</code>. Down there, you can find all sorts of tools and substances that can either help you commit crime or just let loose. All black market stalls are prefixed with <code>bm</code> at the start of their plot name, allowing you to locate each shop with <code>/gps</code>.

== Theft ==

Not all crime is about the production of illicit goods. Sometimes it's just better to outright steal cash. Certain NPCs, like Robert, are able to be intimidated and robbed for cash. You can also steal cash from ATMs spread out across Redmont, earning you $500 per machine. Lastly, you can target the Bank of Redmont, which has a vault that you can enter and steal a vast fortune from.

== Getting Caught ==

Alas, though there are many things you can do as a criminal, you can only get so far running from the law. Upon being arrested by a police officer, you will be charged with all crimes you have been recorded committing and forced to not only pay a fine but serve jail time as well. <code>/ignore</code> - ignores/blocks a person preventing them from contacting you

<code>/unignore</code> - reverses the ignoring command

<code>/timestamp</code> - Shows the current local time.

<code>/chest</code> - Opens your virtual supporter chest (requires T1 supporter rank)

<code>/nexo emojis</code> - see a list of emojis available to put in chat. Put them in chat using <code>:emoji_name:</code>

Any command that switches your chat channel can also be used in the format <code>/command <message></code> to send a specific message into that channel, instead of switching your chats to all go into that channel.

<code>/autograph:remove-autograph</code>- removes an autograph from the item you are holding.

DemocracyBusiness is a custom firms plugin that enables players to establish their businesses, hire other players, and set wages. Employees can complete jobs for businesses and generate revenue by producing items for chest shops.
