Judges are the name of the [[judicial officers]] that preside over the [[Federal Court]]. In the past, 'judge' has also been the name of the judicial officers that preside over [[the Court]], the [[Supreme Court]], and the [[Superior Court]].

Judges are nominated by the [[president]] and confirmed by the [[Senate]].

== Superior Court ==
The ratification of the [https://www.democracycraft.net/threads/judicial%E2%80%8C-%E2%80%8Crestructuring%E2%80%8C-%E2%80%8Camendment.6231/ Judicial Restructuring Amendment Act] on 10 June 2021 created the Superior Court and removed the Court, and no longer allowed judges to preside over the Supreme Court. Judges before ratification became judges of the Superior Court.

The chief justice is the chief judge of the [[Supreme Court]] and is the highest-ranking officer of the judiciary. A player must have at least 150 hours of total active playtime to be nominated for chief justice by the president. In order to assume their position after being nominated, they must be approved by a majority of the [[Senate]].

Section 19.2 of the [https://www.democracycraft.net/threads/constitution.6/ Constitution] grants the chief justice the power to deliver a verdict in the case of a disagreement among the justices.

The Supreme Court of Redmont is the highest court in the nation and hears all final appeals as well as challenges related to the removal of public office holders. It is composed of no more than three Justices, including the Chief Justice, who is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. All available Justices preside over cases, with the majority opinion forming the basis of the Court's ruling. Dissenting Justices may deliver individual or joint opinions, which are published alongside the majority. A verdict requires the agreement of at least two Justices, and in the event of a disagreement, the Chief Justice's opinion prevails. Decisions of the Supreme Court are final and binding on all other courts, with no further appeals permitted unless a significant legal error occurred or substantial new evidence is presented. * In the meantime, Angryhamdog attempted to convince MoonKairiki to appear at the hospital for treatment under the threat of being charged for causing infection and resisting arrest; however, MoonKairiki continually refused to comply, remaining in public areas and continuing to infect other players.

=== Expansion into Written Journalism ===
On April 14, 2025. TPA News decided to expand beyond broadcasting and introduced the TPA News website on April 17, 2025. Allowing it's recently hired writers to produce articles, such as, but not limited to; political, business, cultural and editorial content.

===== Temporary Shutdown of TPA News, and data loss =====
On May 1, 2025. tortenwashere sent out a private memo to it's employees, informing them that TPA News’ back-end server—previously hosted under a free trial—had expired. As a result, the platform experienced a temporary shutdown and the unfortunate loss of two published articles.

TPA News then moved to a different back-end service, now hosted under torten's servers. The TPA News website is now back online as of May 17, 2025. With some pages, such as the home page currently under construction.<references />
