AussieBloke25: Added a Murder paragraph.

Crime in DemocracyCraft is anything that is against the law. While most laws exist to regulate, there are certain actions that are built into DemocracyCraft with the sole purpose of being criminal acts. These specific actions are what differentiates a conventional lawbreaker from a criminal.

Illicit Substances
Full Article: Illicit Substances

Not all substances are legal- and for good reason. For strong elixirs, you can sell them for some hard cash but do beware as you can be arrested and/or fined if you are caught having these items in possession or trying to sell them outside the Black Market.

This doesn't only apply to exclusively banned substances. Selling medical supplies (not [[Pharmaceuticals) outside of designated areas is also illegal, but who knows, you might be able to make good money from it.

Illegal Weaponry
Full Article: Illegal Weaponry

Anyone can own a gun or use one- that's perfectly legal so long as you have Gun License. However, not all weapons are. For example, nuclear weapons are illegal to possess in any way. Due to their massive potential to kill, they are often one of the more expensive options you can find for sale in illicit markets.

Murder
Full Article: Murder

Excluding those under new player protection, anyone can be murdered. This can be done to collect Bounties and/or player heads. All players upon death drop their player head that can be used for decoration (heads of prominent players can be sold on the black market).

After murdering a player, clues are spawned in which can be interacted with by detectives to convict the perpetrator. If a detective interacts with the clues and gains enough evidence to convict, a wanted star will be assigned to the player responsible for the murder. These stars do not disappear until the player is arrested. Typical sentences include jail time and a $400 fine.

Black Markets
Full Article: Black Market

So where do you buy and sell this all anyway? Black markets are regions of Redmont that are not subject to the law and can sell whatever they please. The most popular one, the Reveille Black Market, is located at
2809 69 4170
. Down there, you can find all sorts of tools and substances that can either help you commit crime or just let loose. All black market stalls are prefixed with
bm
at the start of their plot name, allowing you to locate each shop with
/gps
.

Theft
Full Article: Theft

Not all crime is about the production of illicit goods. Sometimes it's just better to outright steal cash. Certain NPCs, like Robert, are able to be intimidated and robbed for cash. You can also steal cash from ATMs spread out across Redmont, earning you $500 per machine. Lastly, you can target the Bank of Redmont, which has a vault that you can enter and steal a vast fortune from.

Getting Caught
Alas, though there are many things you can do as a criminal, you can only get so far running from the law. Upon being arrested by a police officer, you will be charged with all crimes you have been recorded committing and forced to not only pay a fine but serve jail time as well. But it would not be an unknown punishment, as all punishments are documented on the forum.

After serving your time, you will be let free with a clean slate. Whether you choose to keep it that way is for you to decide.

AussieBloke25: Added a "Tenders" paragraph describing the tenders process to the "Making Money" tab of the wiki.

This guide is your roadmap to making money, from landing a job to starting your own business in the current Redmont economic meda. Whether you are grinding raw resources, launching entrepreneurial ventures, or entering the government sector, Redmont has the opportunities you need to thrive.

Get a Job
You can have up to 2 trades, 1 profession, and any number of government jobs or licenses!

University exams
* Pass job exams at Redmont University (via
/university
) to unlock various roles. These exams test your wiki knowledge to ensure you understand your role's rules and mechanics.

Trades
Trades (Limit: 2): These are entry-level manual-labor jobs (Miner, Lumberjack, Farmer, Fisher, Hunter, Chef, Brewer, Carpenter, Contractor, Designer, Journalist).

Grinding trades (like Miner and Fisher) prints money from the government directly into your bank balance as you perform actions through server plugin payouts, and can allow you to more efficiently collect resources that you can also sell (see Trading). Crafting trades (like Chef or Carpenter) allow you to craft specific consumable goods to sell in chest shops. Roleplay trades like Designer and Journalist allow you to access the MapArt plugin or the news channel in the Discord respectively. Contractor currently does nothing and is not recommended.

* Explore the Hunter job for self-paced earnings by eliminating mobs!
* Try being a Miner and supplying shops with your valuables!
* Work as a Lumberjack and clear out forests in the wilderness!
* Become a Fisher and relax while earning money!
* Diversify your income streams and build your skills with even more trade jobs!

Professions
Professions (Limit: 1): These tend to be higher-paying specialized roles (Armourer, Jeweller, Mason, Mechanic, Realtor).

Most professions focus on crafting custom specialized items. Realtors, however, only allow you to exceed plot limits, and are not recommended for new players.

Licenses
Licenses (Unlimited): (Accountant, Driver, Entrepreneur, Pharmacist, Pilot, Developer, Lawyer).

Licenses notably can be revoked by the government if you break certain laws or regulations, unlike other university jobs. Most licenses unlock certain gameplay mechanics, while others permit you to take part in business or legal roleplay. The Entrepreneur license is highly recommended for new players, as you can easily make money by sending chat ads for other players.

Lawyer licenses allow you to represent other players in court. These licenses are split into Solicitor, Barrister, and Attorney, requiring passing complex university exams testing your knowledge of the Redmont Civil and Criminal Codes. Legal professionals make significant money by drafting lawsuits, defending clients, and claiming legal fees.

Government jobs
* Entry-level government roles like Trainee Doctors and Police Recruits await on the forums!

Tenders
* Periodically, tenders are made available by the Department of the Interior (DoI). Players bid on tenders to complete, gather the required resources then paid. This is a great way of making money early on.
* To see, bit and complete active tenders go to: https://www.democracycraft.net/forums/tenders.110/

Player-made jobs
* Join the DemocracyCraft Discord server for real-time job listings from player-made businesses!
* Most private sector roles are built around convenience where wealthy players pay you to save them time on low-skill tasks like clearing land, building cosmetic designs, or gathering resources.
* Explore business opportunities and find your perfect job match!

Start a Business
Business registration
* Access the in-game companies plugin, which helps track employees and assets.
* Submit your business registration application on the forums to comply with certain laws and avoid getting sued.
* Apply for a government grant to kick-start your business financially.

Secure a location
* Purchase a plot or rent space within existing buildings for your business.
* Government shop spaces near spawn are highly competitive to rent, but offer the best foot traffic for new businesses.

Trading
Chest Shops
* The ChestShop plugin is the main form of trade on the server. You can use them to both buy and sell items, and it is not necessary to register a business to make them.
* Quickly sell items that you have gathered through farming, crafting, or exploring the wilderness to other people's shops that are buying them.
*** The /find command can help you locate Chestshops that are buying and selling items all across the server.
* Or, you can set up your own shop that sells items at better prices, passively generating more income even while you are offline.
** Use /rl search to find plots for rent where you can set up Chestshops.

Merchant Arbitrage
Arbitrage is a simple way to make money. All you do is buy items from shops selling them cheaply, and then sell them to shops buying them for more.

* Buy low, sell high!
* Use Gnomestats to find Arbitrage opportunities.
* Set up chest jobs to automatically arbitrage items and act as a "market maker", although this involves risk if the price moves significantly.
* You can also buy raw resources cheap from active grinders and sell them in bulk to builders or to government tenders on the forums.

Conclusion
Whether you choose a stable job, start a business, or dive into independent selling, Redmont offers diverse opportunities to grow your wealth. Explore your options, make strategic decisions, and watch your bank account flourish!
